Kimetsu Academy Characters Join the Versus Mode of Demon Slayer

July 12, 2021 - SEGA has released intro trailers for the “Junior High and High School!! Kimetsu Academy Story” characters who are joining the Versus Mode in Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles, the console title based on the anime adaptation of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Kimetsu Academy Tanjiro Kamado is a stubborn but polite boy. He wears a memento, his father’s earrings, at school even though it is against the academy rules. Kimetsu Academy Nezuko Kamado, a girl who always carries a baguette in her mouth, is always surprisingly hard to get up in the morning. Kimetsu Academy Giyu Tomioka, the gym teacher, is famous for his harsh teaching style. Kimetsu Academy Zenitsu Agatsuma is a member of the academy’s disciplinary committee. Although he fears the naughty ones, he has the daily task of checking everyone’s attire according to the academy’s dress code. Raised by a boar, Kimetsu Academy Inosuke Hashibira is the kind of student that brings nothing but his lunch to school while wearing short sleeves all year round. Kimetsu Academy Shinobu Kocho is Miss Kimetsu in school, who is also a member of both the Pharmaceutical Research Club and the Fencing Club. These characters will appear in their Kimetsu Academy costumes along with their own Ultimate Arts!

<solo mode>

In the Solo Mode, you can follow Tanjiro Kamado and dive into the story from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime by yourself! This game includes the events of the “Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc” where Tanjiro began his journey, joined the Demon Slayer Corps, and fought a variety of demons, as well as the “Mugen Train Arc” where he was accompanied by the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku.

You will be able to enjoy the battles against demons which was portrayed in the anime and brought to life in this game with incredible graphics!

<versus mode>

12 characters from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime, including Tanjiro Kamado and Nezuko Kamado, as well as 6 characters from the series’ official spinoff, “Junior High and High School!! Kimetsu Academy Story”, will join the Versus Mode. You can choose any combination of 2 characters from a total of 18 characters to take part in battles!

Characters can be paired together as they were in the anime, or you can form a dream team that has never appeared in the anime. Build your ideal team to enjoy the battles!

About the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime

The animated adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga series from Shueisha Jump Comics that has now sold over 150 million copies of volumes 1~23 in total. The show, which originally began broadcast in April 2019, follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family was murdered by a demon while his own sister, Nezuko, was turned into one herself. Tanjiro Kamado joined the Demon Slayer Corps, in order to find a way to turn his sister back into a human. This adventure exploded in popularity not only in Japan but also around the world, as it portrayed the heartrending ties between humans and demons and a ghastly swashbuckler, while having moments of comic relief.

Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Mugen Train, premiering October 2020 in Japan and later worldwide, directly follows the events of “Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc” of the anime series. By May 24 in Japan alone, the movie scored around 28,966,806 audiences and ¥40,016,942,050 in box office revenue, with total revenue of around ¥51.7 billion plus 41.35 million audiences in 45 regions around the world. The anime titled “Entertainment District Arc” is also set to release in 2021.
